SMU has a commitment and permanent ministry on the islands of Leyte & Samar, Philippines. These are two of the least evangelized islands of the Philippines and of the most impoverished areas. We see many patients with infectious diseases, untreated wounds, upper respiratory infections, abscesses, hypertension, diabetes, Tuberculosis, tumors and goiter patients among other various ailments. Our mission is to share God’s love through medical treatment and counseling provided by local pastors who partner with our teams. SMU works closely with the Philippine nationals as we incorporate the help of the Filipinos on every level of our mission.
